Hello, I'm Amanda

A classical pilates instructor with an mindful approach towards health & wellness, based in the Hudson Valley, New York.

I became a Pilates instructor because the practice completely transformed my life. After struggling with pain and frustration post-pregnancy, Pilates helped me reconnect with my body, build strength, and move without discomfort. It wasn’t just about getting back to the activities I loved, it was about healing from the inside out. Inspired by my own journey, I pursued my Classical Pilates certification, and now, I’m passionate about sharing this mindful movement with others.

  • What is Pilates?
    Pilates is a holistic fitness method created by Joseph Pilates, originally called Contrology, designed to help you strengthen both your body and mind. By focusing on controlled, precise movements, Pilates improves your posture, flexibility, and overall strength. Whether you’re looking to recover from an injury, get back in shape postpartum, or build more stability as a retiree or busy professional, Pilates helps you move with ease, balance, and confidence.
  • Do I need any prior experience with Pilates to get started?
    No prior experience is needed to get started! Pilates is for everyone, and we’ll guide you at your own pace, no matter your fitness level.
  • What if I have an injury?
    Pilates is an effective way to rehabilitate chronic pain and injuries by strengthening the body and correcting misalignments that cause recurring issues. If you have an injury or have recently had surgery, we recommend clearing it with your doctor or physical therapist first. Please inform us of any injuries before scheduling, so we can tailor your sessions to support your recovery and ensure you're doing what's best for your body.
  • How do I get started?
    For in studio sessions I recommend starting with our Intro Package at Pure Pilates in Newburgh, NY, which includes two private sessions and one group class. This gives us the chance to assess your body’s strengths and needs while you become familiar and comfortable with the Pilates philosophy, terminology, and apparatuses. Some people prefer to continue with private lessons for more personalized attention, while others may transition into a small group class once they feel ready. Whatever path you choose, you'll receive hands on guidance to help you meet your personal fitness goals.
